Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi & Drive to Lake Naivasha (3 – 4 hours)

Day 11: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Day 12: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha Sector (4 – 6 hours)

This remote and atmospheric part of the park is famous for its tree-climbing lions. Arrive by mid-afternoon, set up your rooftop tent, and relax at camp. Later in the afternoon, head out for a relaxed game drive in search of the unique tree-climbing lions lounging in fig trees, along with Uganda kob, elephants, and other wildlife.

Day 13: Full Day in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Driving and safety – Drive during daylight and allow extra time for dirt roads, which are slower and more corrugated than they appear. Fuel up in major towns and carry extra water and snacks.
Setting up camp – Practice setting up the rooftop tent a couple of times before going to the park. Days come to ensure it’s secure, elevated, and offers incredible views, but familiarity helps.
